In respect to M. Murrow's
} case it appears, that in February 1854 he purchased, for ground rent a preminum of £10. per annum for a marine lot which was afterwards claimed for repayment of the cost as a compensation to Mr. Murrow, it was fairly objected, that he had been offered but to this Mr. Murrow alleging and had accepted 1500 dollars for the lot on condition that the Government should not resume it. But as there were certain portions of land resumed at the suggestion of the Ordnance Department on the supposition that it would be required for Military works.
We gather from the papers that several of the Land Officers suggested the repayment to Mr. Murrow of the Land adjoining his property their position would have a peculiar value to him, and he was offered to accept it in exchange for his marine lot. The Surveyor General admitting that his first proposal of compensation was too low as
